Good Bye Joy

Brutal is a world where a Love can be lost.
I’d die to have it back now at any cost.
But I know in my heart what that cost would be.
We’ve discussed this together, You and me.
I tear up when I think of what we could’ve had.
The realities of this world can make me so sad.
Was it just fantasy myself I had to ask?
Or was it much deeper than an emotional mask?
I think it was deeper and Ill tell you why.
I may be a softy but takes a lot to make me cry.
The feeling’s still there maybe always will be.
Must continue our lives though, maybe someday we’ll see.
My hope for you Joy is for freedom and Peace.

I’ll always wonder how it could have been.
