Oneís Twilight is Anotherís Dawn

Enchantments of a broken horizon
We behold the same sky
When my dusk is your dawn
Teasing destiny
Your joy is salt to my wounds
Light cascades in an ocean of dark
Does love end in the throes of a wish
That never comes true

Stop me before I speak too soon
How soon is too soon to say, I love you
What potential damage
These words that are meant to heal
Love is a loaded promise
Contemplating a stronger connection
Based on what we feel

Searching for a heart that permits
When all Iíve known is an irregular beat
Or a rhythm that breathes off limits
Oh to win your affections
Love comes at the cost of self-defeat

Saving for miles
I begin to consider a journey
Waiting for hypothetical
To push past a thought
When your heart is worth crossing oceans for

Are high hopes worth the risk of devastation?
As if love could be more than make believe
Caught between a romance of fairy tales and Hollywood
If love is blind than my heart is all too easy to deceive

Moon-burnt by a reflection
I canít hide from the rays of an unseen sun
All Iíve got is a destination without the details
Spotlight, highlights, the hope of finding the one

A perfect day on the other side of the world
My twilight dies behind the horizon
But the thought of you is a foreshadowing dawn
What is this that inspires me?
But a love that keeps me holding onÖ

Author's Note
I believe this is one I wrote of pure longing and yet sounds so specific to someone, but in truth the ending points to the idea of being infatuated with possibilities that had yet to come true...
