Mistakes

I look beyond my scarred life
I don’t know how I managed to survive
Every choice I made was wrong
I brought this to myself so here I belong
I’m trapped inside past of pain and regret
Remorse for what I’ve done, for all my mistakes
Desperate and searching for forgiveness
Searching for hope and acceptance
All the wrongs I committed
I was numb and so co-dependent
The lies that I’ve spoken so many times
The feelings that I always try to deny
All the pain that haunts me still
And all the shame surrounding me
Is now the past that I can’t kill
Forever wrapped around me
And all the sadness in my life
Are now the things that I can’t hide
It’s just a fear that’s deep inside
As time flies, I try to do what’s right
And become the best version of myself, happy revived
