A Perfect Lover
Just another day today
Winsome and feeling alone
I don't have much to say
Except that I am stoned
Not from the weed I smoked at five
But rather from the hours
Spent living this human life
The time now devoured
Into the great abyss
Where all wasted time must go
And just one kiss
Would make my heart whole
The longing for a connection
To belong to another
Beautiful, pure affection
A perfect lover
One to kiss my cares away
Perhaps to dry my tears
For this is what I crave
An old-fashioned love affair
This daydream is suddenly over
Reality has arrived
Music floating in the air
Another day survived

Hoi hoi
Can’t believe that this honest reaching out for someone is getting so little response.
It teaches me to have more attention for your work and to check what the expression of soul food can be that you have going for you.
I worked as a volunteer in a souls dood kitchen, eons ago. I don’t believe for a second that that is what you want to say to me…
Love the poem though. The like button is not enough. A soul button maybe?
