Waiting, tossing, turning I'm so desperate to fall asleep, knowing you're waiting in my dream, I'm trying my hardest to fall to sleep

Knowing in my dream like state, I may find you there, waiting to share sometime with me, to share some love and care

But I'm looking into darkness, my brain it won't turn off, everytime I settle, I'm woken by a thought or cough

Please Mr Sandman come into my room I beg and pray, so I can go find my dream girl, I beg please listen to what I say

All day I think of her, she's always in my heart and head, but the only time I get to be with her, is lying in my bed

When I'm in my special dreams, I can feel her warm embrace, I can hold her close to me, and place kisses softly on her face

I've tried to slow my breathing down, to relax and just stay calm, I've tried some meditation, and some relaxation balm

Please sleep come capture me, I'm desperate to see my girl, I want to take her in my dream and let true love unfurl

I'm counting sheep, with eyes shut tight, I know my girl is near, but I can't seem to settle, it's the late night Coffee I must fear

I knew I shouldn't had a drink, like a fool I took another cup, now i can't see my girl, because of a fateful sup

I wish that I'd had some Decaf, I'd have her wrapped within my arms, for me no more late night Coffee, it's caused me such alarm

Tossing, turning, frantic, but my brain doesn't seem to care, it's killing me I can't get to you, though I know you're there
