Mon Amour

There's an understanding between us
Not found with words
Words imply distance
Intuitive connection
Because we're each in it for the other
No anchor of self to stay hand or heart
Nor stay our lips from passion's taste
Listen to desire's whisper
Within your own heart's beating
A kiss is a language all it's own
And the vagrancy of words is lost
Heedlessly scattered
As petals before a spring tempest
Scarce to breath
To die and yet to live
In the urgency of a kiss
Exchanged in the silent fluency of our hearts
Let me live for this
For a kiss writes its own song
She sings in the colors of Autumn
Starry diamond fires wreathing a summers night's dreamings
So like the splendour found within your eyes
Mine to kindle the smoulder
Yours to stir embers to flame
Ah, to share sweet breath
Love's sensuous flame
Dancing between our souls
Which only lips may earnest tell
And upon the heart to sear
The truth
Of a fire that breaths
