Oh, Mariana
I want to write to you
in echoed thoughts
and tell you about the fish
swimming in my head
like my mind is an ocean
and my body is it's receding vessel
I wonder if I would find myself
at the bottom of the Mariana Trench
would I know myself in the lightlessness?
would I still exist under the bone crushing pressure
of waters infinity?
I don't know
perhaps there is freedom
in shadowlessness
in bones ground to wet dust
in thoughts only the dead can hear
I write letters
in echoes to myself
a shadow of a shadow of a shadow
a whisper so bright
it becomes the abyss
There's an ocean in my head
and the glaciers are melting
