She Quit Again
My wife quit smoking today
Don't know whether I'm happy or not
I'm walking on egg shells
About anything will set her off
I know she'll be healthier for it
I've got to hunker down and be brave
Hope our love she doesn't forget
Without that thing she craves
She's tried a time or two before
Once, she almost made it a year
I've still got a scar or two from that war
I remember how it made me shed a tear
If we get through it, it will be worth it
If not, well at least we tried
If she gets angry I'll just have to take it
Or maybe I should find a place to hide

The dirty secret of every smoker is that we absolutely LOVE to smoke. *And,* each and every one of us ALWAYS wants to QUIT. It is an interesting weed.

My father started smoking at the age of 3. His mom would roll a tobacco leaf for him. Back then they advertised they were good for you. One day in his 70's he decided to quit, and he was done. I figured his declining health scare him into quitting.
It's an interesting drug, that's for sure.

On October 15th of this year it will be 3 years that I've quit. It's still something that I think about. Yet when remembering how hard that first year was, I'm not ever going to go back. It's extremely difficult to quit and stay that way. I wish her and you all the best luck 🤞🏻. The huge bonus, besides financially, is that I do physically feel much much better.

I do wish her luck. I can't imagine how hard it is to quit.
I remember they only let smokers take a smoke break at work, so I bought a pack of cigarettes and carried them with me everywhere at work. Never intended to smoke the things. Left them on my repair truck (golf cart) and someone stole them.
I don't know much about cigarettes, but they had been opened for about a year. Can't imagine they were very good.

The silliest thing in the world is a smoker that has been done quit, and then at some stressful or even just fun and exhuberant moment thinks to themselves, I can have one cigarette..nCertainly, one single cigarette is not going to disrupt the ballance..." Been there, did that, still smoking today.
