Lost To You

Sun tried to break through;
Forever in a twilight daze covered in mist as clouds,
billowed across the grey of the sky
Sails torn from a fierce storm in the gloom of the crests,
of a dark sea

A bell sounded from a distance far removed
Lost, lost, an echo of a beating heart
Memory of your eyes haunt this sleep
Arms wrap 'round to warm from the shivers of the cold...night

A knock at the door of this thick covered fog
This soul reaches for, a happiness that might bring, thru a door
Which will open, to see, your eyes
Glancing as I strain for a glimmer of light

Dry tears of a joy that cry, with this constant friend called pain
A starving hunger...
A soundless noise...
Aphrodite's dust scattered on the four winds
Love, a hope drowned in grey, forgot by rain washed streets
A comfort in her arms, to a time of a now long ago
Lost, in the memory... of you
