Image for the poem So Long….

So Long….

timeless rhythms shift
again in the daily grind
you’re in tune with the
molecules of nature
I hope as you take another
breath and find
you’re able to define
the nomenclature

I’d give up all my
tomorrows once again
to remember one more
yesterday with you
a still lake reflects the
midnight moon’s champagne
and ripples from the
stone of regret I threw

in this veil of mist I
stand kissing the rain
at the end of an
invisible rainbow
time flickers like a light
from a passing train
casts a shadow on the
smile you would bestow

lingering scent of your
hair as black as night
to opened eyes a deep
rolling ocean blue
the whispered words the
ache of shivers recite
remain caressed by a
silence rendered true

I can’t calculate the
price of confession
reflected on the walls
of an empty room
dim pastel shades of
a lasting impression
your absence now
echoes a familiar tune

I’m sure I can see you
off in the distance
but my faltering steps
don’t bring you closer
with darkness comes the
descent of resistance
and I’m left with the cold
shades of October
