Moon Landing

in the pale curve of the Moon
sits a son of the universe
mother rests from her twilight
weighed down in her efforts

her waterfall of light on high
spills downward, now abides
lights now the earth and sky
controls emotions and the tides

comfort to her many children
as they exist for her pleasure
to watch and worship always
she and her brother the Sun

created in the world of dreams
hopes ripple upon the water
of hues borne from dry bones
endless nights drinks the milk

woven by starlight threads
the intricate silken tapestry
her guardian is ever vigilant
she will never be undone
