Figments of the Shade of Grey
riding on my bike, I pass my old high school
scenes from a silent movie spiderwebbing
my memories.
I see butterflies flutter on 8mm film
snapshots and memories caught in the mesh
of a butterfly net.
the photographer clicks the shutter
the script of my past had been flipped
as the director shouts...CUT!
does it capture the mood
or is this just a bi-polar episode
bulldozing through my thoughts.
a situational comedy starring me
hanging under the sycamore
as the scent of rotted rhubarb reaches
as balck-n- white butterflies flutter
off the silver screen.
figments of the shade of grey
as their wings flitter landing on daises
blowing in the wind.
