Andean vales green as envy
Gather pilgrims for holiday from tears
Where tradition is the religion
For doubters and believers alike
When lovers creeds turn into forested hills
Where trees are strong as fairy spells
Whose magic cannot replace agape
Or fool the delight of couples
In their unbound love
On their woodland trek
To a place beyond toil or strife
Where sacred shrines point the way
To a Machu Picchu of the heart

Peru is an interesting metaphoric use, my friend. I am curious if you've been before? .. I enjoyed the flow and phrasing.... like trees as strong as fairy spells.... just wonderful imagery! ..... 🧚🏻... I so enjoyed reading

Oh, my friend thrilled you picked up on Peru as a metaphor here. One of my college degrees was in anthropology and we saw a film about the pilgrimage in the Andes. These people combined their Incan ancestral rituals with their adopted Catholic religions. They looked so happy following the trails through the valleys with their traditional clothes and ritual things. Love how you read me here my friend. Love how your words make me bon vivant.
