Theater of Madness

You break I break with you
Every crack lined across a single window pane
We are both of us made of glass
Fragile as they come

Traumatized by the thought of all that's lost
Striving to maintain perspective
In the face of all that was and all that has been left undone

Reminders in the media, reminiscent of our tears once more
We shed the weight of sorrow for the enchantment
The present hell of absence longing for all that heaven has in store

Don't take for granted every breath in the here and now for waiting
When the life lived for tomorrow in the moment finds us suffocating

Still I know the yearning of every image on display
In this theater of madness of all those we've lost along the way

When memory is a nightmare for the silent heartbeat haunting
And the moment feels like torture for all that finds us wanting

Creature comfort compensations aiming to displace the sorrow
Taper the longing of these dead affections for today until tomorrow

Substitutions pale for knock off love of what cannot replace
Deep seated discontentment for the hands we long to embrace

Wether offspring of or heir to the inherritance of the grave
All we have is what is left of a life once known for the lives we couldn't save...
