Tea, Earl Grey, Hot With Ginger Honey....!
To all the where of’s and the proverbial why’s
including societal epithets and anxiety lullabies
Train whistle of the kettle as I prepare the first pot
so we can sit share each and intimate thought
A hot cuppa, talk brilliantly aimless and all that
a personal sacrifice so we can chew the fat
Steam hangs about like a ghost who just left the body
drips loosen the tongue and I hope we aren’t too gaudy
I’ll sip your every word to satisfy this ear itch
knit one and pearl 2 becomes a stitch and bitch
It’s all just so so as wisps of dreams rise on up
but not the only thing as we enjoy a sweetened cup
