Beads

beads on the window pane
too many to number
trickle slowly driving you insane
drift off into a mental slumber

come unraveled come undone
the perspective is long gone
those same memories you shun
feed the shadows you spawn

the water droplets creeping
clouding the things which you see
in your mind they are weeping
and they desire to be set free

blinded by a lightning flash
heartbeats echoes in refrain
cold shivers now turn to ash
lucidity departs like a train

pressure cocks a loaded gun
the curtains are half drawn
you’d kill just to see the sun
hope you make it to the dawn

there is no point in sleeping
‘cause whatever will be will be
the secrets you are keeping
stay buried beneath the sea

hang on it’s all about to crash
tossed away just like a pawn
try not to do anything rash
as you stifle one last yawn
