Two Ships in the night

Two Ships in the night

I wonder did we pass today, just like Two Ships in the night, did the other part of me, sail off out of sight

Did I miss the warning signs, like a lighthouse shinning in the dark, will I crash on to the rocks of loneliness because a missed loves spark

That telling smile, a nod hello, did I stand beside her on the train, was that my chance of happiness, will it come by again

Have I not met her yet, is she somewhere out there far at sea, trying to find her bearings, to set sail a course to me

Will we ever get to meet, or is a desert island just my fate, or will I find my shipmate and go out on a date

Will I be on the Love boat, or the Titanic ship of doom, will it be a romance or a ship sinking in the gloom

I hope I see your signal, send it loud and very clear, so even I can find you, so I can tell true love is near

Will I get a second chance, just a try to get things right, or are we setting sail for loneliness, like Two ships passing in the night
