Solstice

of impending equinox
creeps forward silently
the magic eye it stalks
to clash most hungrily

eruption blast intense
swirl in a blinding flash
surreal and no defence
sparks fly iridescent
fierce backlash

forces of nature
nowhere to hide
fireball, celestial
path ecliptic
suddenly heaven
and earth collide
questions abound
answers are cryptic

from out of the black soil
shoots emerge
green and tender
their delicate stance
pushing forth
ever forward they surge
coaxed and prodded
by a Druid�s life dance

brother Sun chases
sister Moon
a white wolf�s
howl echoes aloud
shadowed by
the call of a loon
solstice serenade
strong and proud
