Said the Squid to the Elephant.

It's a shame I put you through it
Let our hearts work overtime

I'll surrender
I'll surrender

Even in the deepest depths
You never wrote home about

All you wanted was to choke
On the words you begged to hear

From my mouth

Maybe we should've known
Staring into the end

It was already the end

I don't care about people in love
They'd never make it this far

Seems like we'll fall in love like they do
Knowing we couldn't stick around

I wanna feel like you feel tonight
Hung up and dry on the inside
I wanna let it happen to you
Pretty roses left to die

I never knew you at all
Slow down
I'll never know you at all

You were born without bones
Looking for holes to fill

Looking at you
I'll always be afraid of the truth

What else would I say

Lying for fun

Never being scared of losing you

Tell me how I'm suppose to deal with
Losing you

Things we might have said
Said the squid to the elephant
