Image for the poem Can we save this

Can we save this

No matter how much we try,
Can we really save this?
All the fighting,
All the arguing,
Are they really worth something?
Are they constructive
Or the cause of our destruction?

We both giving it our
But this turmoil between is driving us insane.
Is it really worth the pain?
All the sacrifice and our desperate attempts to save?

Can you really say
If it's me or you who's dragging us down?
No matter how much we try
There's no leaving behind this monkey we've dragging around...

The weight is slowly killing us inside
Instead of giving up, we'd rather gamble and bet with our hearts.
It's no longer about who's wrong or right
But can we really save this?

The years, all the memories we dying to keep
Are now starting to take more than they give
One more chance, it is what we really need?
On pages we bleed
What was love now feels like greed..

Do we really want this?
Our love based on a lie because we can't let go of the past
Do we really want this?
To live hoping that we one day could go back to who we were
To how things were
Before it all spiralled out of control and came crushing down

Tell me now,
After all these fights
Sleepless nights, tears
And deep cuts from failed attempts of kentsugi..
The countless back and forths
It's no longer about who's wrong or right
But can we really save this?
