Never knew how conducive karaoke
is to romantic coupling, expectations
when you are the odd man out

not a word or even acknowledgement
freeze thaw

Another karaoke adventure, an invite
from another lass a most memorable
time and a reminder of the joys of touch
eons since such sensations were mine
“Oh what a night”

Opening of my eyes
when texts go unanswered
four days straight and her appearance
with her latest flavor of the week
affection on overload after singing
“Holding on to you so tight,
 felt like it was choking me”

So I think have had my fill of karaoke
aspirations firmly grounded in ashes
besides the karaoke mask era
isn’t all that rewarding....
