Cheating scum that know every exploit,
able to calculate on five different levels
unfair mechanical methods,
answered by rage and passion
that no mere machine
could ever posses or be capable of,
armed with the ultimate move:
to not play,
defying all logic with spite
and mortality
able to just walk away
while the machine sits idling and unnoticed.

Entry 23 for NaPoWriMo2021: a non-Tolkien based on this time.
I play computer games, to enjoy the escapism and possibility. I do not enjoy the 'challenge' and 'test' that Artificial Intelligence can sometimes bring, and the arbitrary difficulty that they create in order to make the game 'interesting'. A wiser move would be to give up the game completely when the fun stops: I settle with having to stop to eat or sleep or other requirements.

I totally agree, Viddax. When something becomes so difficult it drains the fun, it's time to stop and focus on something else. This was very well-written. I've been reading your posts in the challenge, and am making my rounds to comment!

Unfortunately I don't always heed that wisdom, and sometimes double down on the trial because of time limits, if only to 'get it done'.
