Into The Mystic

when two spirits collide
drifting along through this life
as the deep rolling waves crash
the shoreline will finally relent
 
alive under your sky tonight
I swim in this sailor’s delight
as the bright North Star shines  
the darkness and shadow lament
 
dreams fade to a promise  
drift on the oceans swells
your mystic spell pulls me closer
and love is a word in the sand
 
aimless days spent adrift
ache slips below the surface  
and all those memories a  
wave wipes away with her hand
 
mariners slip through time
together carried  on the wind
your gypsy smile guides me in
and we’re anchored in the stars
 
graceful dance, lunar pirouettes
we rise from watery graves
grace defined by inky silhouettes  
together we while away the hours
 
we step towards the sound
for the dance needs to exist
at last openness unfettered
on the seas we are borne

final destination now in reach
through gentle parting of the mist
sweet anticipation in arrival
the whispering call of the horn
