Will you judge me if I truly express myself?
What will you think of me when I let you into my mind and soul
So you can see me for who I am

There's nothing out of the ordinary about me
But I am human
I have desires too
I have fears and regrets
I have things that make me smile
And I have a great sense of humour

However we all try to live harmoniously
We've all signed the social contract
So I wonder if what I show you about myself
Will disrupt the peace

I hope not

I just hope to have honest conversations
I'm starting to feel like
Everyone has a front

Though we share with those close to us

Why do we pretend to be so perfect?

The thing is I am a writer
Which means that I am one of the people
Who are supposed to document different aspects of humanity

Not what you want to hear or read
But the truth of our time as it is
It would be an injustice for me to hold myself back any longer
