Too Full, Too Empty

tea pot
chiseled faces
porcelain being
chipping melodies

clink; a falling symphony

steaming coffee
gaseous and engulfing
murky like dirt
of a grave overflowing
with death’s acrid shirt

clink; a dropping symphony

void; no liquid
whirlwind whirlpool of
steaming thick coffee
is gone like melodies of
chipped porcelain
staler than toffee

clink; a fallen symphony

coffee
simmers and churns
a sea whose tides have no course
time is fast, but coffee’s faster
can’t make up its damn mind

clink; an ever changing symphony

tea pot twists
of tea pot glory
too full: explode
too vast: no one knows
