The Nightmaiden
I've never felt the
weight of the world as I
have staring away from
it. Eyes are drawn
against gravity through the
night's swirling skies,
hazy and filling my head with
ideas of sleep. The moon
enchants and chills, warms and
breathes Her cold mist into
the wind.
I've never felt such a binding of
spells and the hand of
fate holding me underneath the
starlight to bear witness. Frost
slinks across exposed skin like
spiders and flashes of lightning;
the tide's flee and chase, the
push and pull of shores, late on
that night until I can no more.
