10 Minute Rite

Sacred shroud that reigns on me
Like misty leaves
On mystic trees
Fog enveloped canopy

Adorned in rings
Collected in time
Branching out to find

The torrid depths
That plague our stress
Revealing all that's blessed

A thought upon
The ray at dawn
Rebellious shining through

While during calm
To spark alarm
And knowing it's always noon

Until the dusk
Corrupted us
And played us all it's tune

To snuff the day
And hide decay
And carve upon the rune

A simple task
A broken mask
Sliding down with the dew

The mammoth tusk
Conformed to dust
Enlightened by the Moon

Swift gust of breeze
Flows through these trees
With shaken knees
That wobble me

Adorned in rings
Collecting time
Splintered kings too die
