A Tile On The Floor

a tile on the floor,
conforming to its role.
pitter-patter goes the steps
where words are just no more.

a tile where it sits,
cracking on the edge.
intricate designs are born
but here lies: solemn dread.

a tile is painted fresh,
glistening with great gleam.
the paint is thick and wet
like goopy blood in flesh.

a tile, just a tile,
is painted like the rest.
it sits near tile armies,
but wishes to find a tread.

a tile on the floor,
conforming to its role.
pitter-patter goes the steps
where words are just no more.

Author's Note
Just a quick five minute poem I wrote when I was waiting in line today. As you can tell I saw a tile while I was in line and decided to write a metaphor about it.
Enjoy :) -Keri
