Interesting how the earth is the princess and the lotus is queen. This is an inversion of how I would normally think of the power between them. It raises the lotus to a profoundly exalted position when we think of how powerful is the earth. Thanks for sharing.

I hadn’t thought of it in that way- the power dynamic.
The poem was inspired during a chess game, when I looked down on my queen I thought the crown looked like a lotus flower, and I essentially wrote the poem backwards. The princess seemed logical because I feel the earth energy is feminine.

One of the things I love about poetry is t can be interpreted in many ways. I often learn a bit about myself when someone brings to my awareness  a different perspective.
