The Doubtful Benefit of An Over Active Imagination
7/30
Giving away the hours
Meandering gardens in my mind
Walking miles in fields,
fertile in wildflowers and ornamental grass
The beauty and tranquility
Soothes my suspicious soul
From wondering and accusing
Running and plotting my escape
I would cherish a return
to innocence,
alas, it won’t happen-
too many false tales
Of that I am sure
A sideways glance tells me all
With a dashed hope
I’ll run farther away
Forever

Dear T,
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. In an attempt at metaphor I was hoping to convey, in part the nurturing aspects of nature, the overactive thinking of a tired and frazzled brain, and the need to run from things that are too hurtful. Looks like I need to take things on a more direct approach. Or better, practice writing better metaphor’s. I hope that helps in the understanding of this write. I’m glad you let me clear that up. Thank you. 🌷

Dear J,
Thank you for these kind and thoughtful insights. Yes, it is sad but lately that’s where my head is. It won’t last too much longer I feel spring coming more and more. Thank you so much for the lovely RL add and encouragement. I’m really flattered. H 🌷

Dear H ... you had me at the title ... nice introspective write ... my favorite kind ... smooth flow ... like the build in stanza length ... then the orphan word closing ... spot on ...

Dear L,
I’m so excited you liked the formatting of the piece. I have a challenging time working on different devices to see how it actually ends up and then wonder how everyone else views it. Thank you for the lovely compliments and RL list. I’m over the moon by your kindness and really appreciate it! H 🌷

brilliant writing H.
felt it, it touched too close to the bone; how it should do.

I hear you. I got my covid shot two days ago, a bit of persistent headache and malaise. I napped most of the day, took some tylenol, then a 5 mile bike ride. Sometimes everything inside can feel better when we get outside and feel the space, the life and breath all around us.

Dear D,
Congratulations on your shot! That must be a relief now that’s taken care of. Fresh air is the absolute ticket to clearing out those fuzzy cobwebs. Breathing in life is a lovely thought and process. Thank you for your kind insight! H🌷

Oh to drift away to a nicer place, and one that our own minds conjure no less. I too sometimes consider it might be nice to return to a place of innocence; and then I think about my place of innocence and directly change my mind. I love this piece. So much to contemplate. Well done.

Dear E,
Innocence is never as we remember it. In the end a walk in some fresh air usually clears out the clatter. Best to keep moving forward. Thank you for such kind comments and RL list. H🌷
