For my lovely Tessa

Half of my heart disappeared.
Disappeared from my life.
Half of my soul vanished.
Vanished from this world.
A world filled with lies, drugs, and hurt.
Hurting is how I know I’m still alive.
Barely alive, how do I move on from your death?
Death never seems real.
Real?
What’s real are my thoughts.
Thoughts are hazy.
Hazy, foggy, and dark.
Dark and horrific.
Horrified by the fact that I can’t see your face.
Facing the truth that I can’t live with you.
You are my other half.

I found my old account and saw this poem that I wrote for my best friend who passed away. Every word still hurts.
