I’d like to say

I’d like to say- it was a difference of opinion.
I could say we are incompatible because of religion.

I can use examples of boundaries that were crossed
Or a lack of respect, you simply brushed off

But when we get to the heart of the matter
It really boils down to you couldn’t love me better.
Maybe-you don’t know how
Maybe you lost interest-in the here and now
I wish I could say we could fix things through our approach
Or we can heal that which matters most

The truth is that we are just very different

In our values, In our beliefs
In what constitutes love throughout days or weeks
Things I hold sacred, things I treasure
You treat as sport, you need for pleasure

I’d call it gaslighting and you being an ass to me
But you feel you deserve trust simply for copping to a lesser plea

This was never about how many packs you smoke a day
Or my many visits to chic fil a

The physical miles
Are irrelevant to our distance
And your lack of effort, screams—emotional resistance

You can’t make up your mind
So I’ve done it for you,
I’m Done wasting my time.
