Comfort in the Silence

How many times
Did we walk long and lonely roads
With troubles behind and tribulations ahead
Thoughts to ourselves
Way too many to sort or even count
And though we were lost
We also found comfort in the silence

I used to have plans and ideas
To get away
From all the pains and sins
But it always led me to a place
Where it felt like home
In the midst of synths and beats
That somehow made sense

Here, in the stillness
I find memory and peace
Like dear old friends
Who once held me in their arms
Reminding me that
Everything is going to be alright
