When a Devil Dreams
When he uttered his wish he spoke three words
Kill Joshua S.
And so the demon disappeared to unleash what he bore...
He understood his mistake the minute he uttered the words, but his soul revealed its core, and instead of asking for her disease to be ailed, he asked for the murder of her lover. So hurt was he, that he forgot of the thing that plagued her every day since her inception. The very thing he shaped his life around providing for... her health.
"So selfish was he," she thought
"...that with one wish, he decided to exact revenge instead of healing his so called "true love".
She knew the vision felt odd. But her heartbreak proved her fears correct. He would disappoint as her mother had, as father, everyone who had claimed undying love only to crumble when SHE was in pain. She took care of herself, until now. Did a good job at being alone, providing for herself. This vision made sense.
But something in the corner kept on bothering her peripheral. What was once a small shimmer grew to a glimmer of bright light beyond sight. In annoyance, not assent, she looked to it's source. The thought began to fill her then,
"He would never, he would burn for eternity first."
It wasn't a thought, but a realization of truth. And like old paint on an antiquated wall, reality pealed away. It was wrong. All that was right was wrong and all that was right sat in front of her. In memory, bleeding on his chest and instructing his shocked awakening, countless lows that he woke up for to address, the beast that came out when he showed how much she was his, proceeded by his need to prove that she was, well, hers, of her own accord...
So little you believed, my dear, that unconditional love COULD NOT exist, that you tried to break a spirit so together like his...
Well know this
In the end
He's accepted all of our disgrace
And I refuse to put again
The pain I placed unto his face
I awoke refusing
Not for him...
But for me
And maybe sometimes
I'll buy him flowers on the day
The day my devil tried
To embed fear in mind.
