There’s Something About a Diamond

There’s something about a diamond on a lady's hand
that makes me want know her, be sure I understand.
What’s so special about what's attached to that pretty finger?
I'll stop and talk a while to see if she will linger.

You never know how things work out; you might win or lose.
I’ll take my chance and try a spin to see how she will choose.
Why just the other night I met a happy married lady.
Once I got her softened up, the lady smiled a maybe.

Later in a motel room, things got out of hand.
I felt her diamond on my back, gift from another man.
The things we did I shouldn’t tell and so, I will be brief.
When we were done I felt I'd won. She made one happy thief!
