The Pagans

The Pagans

The full moon has risen, the witches heed the call, the high Priestess is giving thanks, she spreads blessings on them all

Deep inside the sacred grove, the fires burning bright, she passes them the blessed wine, they're be chanting and song tonight

Sending thanks to Mother Earth, sending love and light in prayer, all of them are skyclad, naked without care

Rituals passed from a long ago, their faith is often shunned, but Pagans are amongst us, if you knew who you would be stunned

Everyday people the same as you and I, living within our modern time, still celebrating the ways of old, to them it is no crime

But a lot of Pagans hide their beliefs, in their hearts the keep and celebrate the old ways, from when our world was Pagan before the Christian days

They go about their daily lives, hiding cleverly in plain sight, they gather to celebrate the seasons, that's why they're here tonight

To give thanks to the Goddess, for each season of the year, these are the celebrations, they attend, that's why they are here

Dancing, chanting, giving thanks, until the ritual ends, then back into the everyday world, to family and their friends

The coven will meet again, at the seasons change and end, you probably know a Pagan, ones probably your friend

In fact I'm sure you know one, or at least you read the stuff he writes, for I am a Pagan, I'm writing in plain sight
