I would love you to be free

I love you because you’re broken
Because your heart is made of feathers
And I weigh the souls against them
But they never were so light

I love you because you’re mine
And for every lie you’ve spoken
I’ve laid to rest the bitter thoughts
So that you may speak your mind

I love you because you’re perfect
Though you hide inside this error
Every torture you sustain
Need not be a noble venture

I love you because you’re fragile
Because your soul is so beautiful
Yet you hide under a dark cloud
As though you were conjecture

I love you because you won’t
Though the possibility exists
But you rest your heart in murky waters
And your dreams become defeat

I love you, love you, love you
But understand this matter well
And these humans think it matters
But then they believe in hell

I love you like no love could ever bear to be repressed
And you think I do not love you and I wish you to confess
But I love you, love you, love you
And I wish you could see
That all you need is to love you
I would love you to be free
