1 HOUR OF HEAVEN, 23 HOURS OF HELL

Oh, how you master words.
Gifts!
Oh, how you know how to choose.
Kind Acts!
You can be sweeter than honey.
Pleasing!
You bend over backward.
Apology!
You are the master of "sorry."
Wine!
And perfect dining.
Then to bed for amazing,
breathless sex.
THE HOUR
has been perfect.
Then you wakeup and
the 23 hours of hell starts.
Abusive words, pushing,
shoving, maybe a slap,
threats, slammed doors;
and the fires of rage burns
until the 1 hour of heaven returns.
I wonder if 1 hour of heaven is worth
23 of hell? Is 7 hours of heaven
during a week worth 161 hours
of hell a week?
Somehow it doesn't seem
like a fair trade. I WONDER!

Sometimes, dysfunctional relationships are incapable of flourishing as both parties, or one, are incapable of demonstrating any emotional intelligence or maturity as they’re too shallow & self absorbed.
I’d be filing for divorce citing irreconcilable differences because somewhere in the world, is a partner who’s capable of nourishing you, holistically; mind, body and soul.
Lest, there be a subscription to a lifetime of misery and heartache.

Well, I guess it’s true numbers don’t lie. By the looks of this math it might be time to rethink things. But I wouldn’t go by me, I was rubbish in math as a kid and now I hear it’s all new...?
I found this poem accurate in describing relationships that have run their course. This write is extremely thought provoking and very illuminating to me and your kindness within its reflection was equally good for me to read.
It’s a difficult subject to comment on but very helpful for introspection. H🌷
