Does saying
"I love you"
over and over
with a quickly
bought dozen
of roses grabbed
from the roadside
salesperson, PROVE
you love me?
Does having quick,
frequent, and amazing
sex after which you
fall asleep,PROVE
you love me?
Does always being right,
winning every argument
prove you love me?
After you abuse me
and apologize and say
you'll never do it again,
PROVE you love me?
Do we BOTH have
the same definition and
understanding of what
real love it.
Let's ask the jury?

The jury should shoot from the hip and declare the defendant guilty of abuse. I fear, however, it’s a hung jury with a repeating cycle. Emotional entanglement mixed with fear can be a toxic combination but emotional entanglement mixed with hope can be lethal. I hope only the best of the best for the hero and heroine behind this write. You have a very thoughtful writing style that makes your poems so wonderfully understandable to read. H🌷
