the truth,
though flexible,
seems fixed
one wonders how
it does such tricks
and bends itself
to suit the mind
yet calls itself
the bottom line
a fact
these days
is not one thing
but any song
you want to sing
or any color
you might choose
to change the truth's
natural hues
for truth that once was
black and white
is made these days
of bits and bytes
and thus is easily
refined
to suit a certain
reader's mind
and any fact
can just be used
to make your stand --
it's all hard news
one twists the truth
to suit his spin
the truth looks hard
but shit! -- it bends

The is no such thing as THE truth. It is a sort of ''element'' which varies from individual to the next, depending on a million things including, say, family context,, wealth (or lack thereof), education...or none, for intelligence and perceptions have sometimes little to do with formal or classical education, etc etc etc.

But a thing that happens, happens.
It happens some place that exists. In real time.
And it is a fact that it happened regardless of one's interpretation or analysis.
So there is truth.
And then there are people's interpretations, most often regarded as truth. How a fact is presented on the news and on the Internet makes our "truth."
People die for that shit.
And that's the truth as well.
