The Sanctity of Art

Art is the stronghold of  
freedom of expression  
and danger abides when  
political correctness is  
allowed to undermine it.
Cultural sensitivity is important,
yea, vital to the progress of  
mankind and will deepen with  
our collective evolution.
The creative process of art,
however, must never subordinate  
itself to what may seem more  
palatable, whether politically  
or socially. “The art that the world  
calls immoral, is the art that shows  
the world its own shame.”  (Oscar Wilde)
Art is the creative force channeled  
through the conduit of the soul
which crystallizes the cosmic energies  
into a particular expression, enabling  
the soul to speak. To speak without  
restraint!
Art gives us a glimpse into  
absolute reality because it manifests  
the highest creative energy from  
universal forces. “Every act of creation  
is first an act of destruction.” (Picasso)
That is, we learn, then unlearn and must learn anew. In art, there is no room for
preconception.  
Art leaves both the artist and the  
spectator in an exalted state, a state of higher consciousness in which one realizes unity with something greater than oneself. “It washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life.” (Picasso). Yet, it is the merging of the eternal with the immediacy of daily life. This merging of higher with lower, makes Art holy.
Imposing restraints on artistic expression  
has profoundly dangerous consequences  
for humankind.
