Searching for eternity (4)

Searching for eternity (4)

The evening came around real soon, she sat quietly on her bed, not knowing why she was there, thoughts running through her head

Then she heard the key turn, the dungeon door was opened wide, there stood a man all in Black, a cape draped by his side

She froze there in terror, instantly she knew the man in Black, she pleaded to be set free, she begged, to taken back

He listened to her plea's he simply shook his head, then she saw his teeth extend, it was time that he was fed

She tried to fend off the king, with her fingers she made a cross, he laughed at her loudly, the attempt was such a loss

He looked deep within her eyes, then came a feeling he thought long lost, he felt a kind of longing, she reminded him of a love once lost

Instead of taking her fresh blood, he unlocked her heavy chain, he asked her was she hungry, she asked is this some kind of game

With a firey spirit, she said "Don't play, just end my life, dont make me sit and suffer, come now end my strife".

Her words struck him deep inside, in his heart he thought was dead, he looked at her with tenderness and simply shook his head

He left for a short while, he didn't bind her in the chains, soon he was at her dungeon door, he stepped inside again

A platter of so many foods, fresh fruit, meat and wine, she was so very hungry and the food looked so devine

She couldn't help but try the food, she noticed he never eat, she offered him a morsel, he refused with some regret

He explained food just tastes like ash, on fresh blood he only feeds, thats why he hunts a night, to take just what he needs

She asked why she was not dead, like all the other victims in the town, he told her he couldn't take her life, on his face he wore a frown

She could see a type of kindness deep within his eyes, he said he must go and feed, then she did something to his great surprise

She pushed her hair to one side she offered him her pulsing vein, he was so extremely hungry, but from feeding he refrained

So he left her in her dungeon, he had to go and feed, he was shocked by her offer, to supply him with his need

Every night he'd visit her, but her blood he would not take, he showed her around the castle, a strange friendship it did make

She began to look forward, to the key turn in the door, she saw a softer side to him, there was kindness at his core

As for the Vampire king, she made him feel so alive, it reminded him of a life long since gone, for it's return again he'll strive
