I TIED KNOTS THEN
LOOSENED THE ENDS
TIED THEM AGAIN
NEVER DID I EXPECT
FOR MY KINDNESS
TO BE WEAKNESS
TO THEM
BUT STILL I
LET MY
HEART
BE OPEN
AND BEND
THEY ACT LIKE
THEY STILL DON'T
UNDERSTAND

I can feel your betrayal and it's palpable.
There's nothing really more heartbreaking than feeling manipulated and used. It's sometimes a hard lesson learned but well remembered.

This is very relevant to a discussion that was about toxic friendships today which was speaking to the dangers of these types of people and the advice was to keep very far away from them.
The problem is we need to call these bad behaviours out and most people don't let that happen. Instead they let things slide.
Sometimes the healthiest relationships are where a person has very few true, trusted and reliable friends and not many friends who deplete your energy harming you because of their selfish and self-serving interests.
Keep on giving us those life lessons, poetess.
