Dear other generations,
I grew up in a world of technology, that you created
And yet you blame my generation for using it
I grew up in the work world you created
With unachievable goals and low pay
I learn in the education system you revolutionized
Pulling at my hair, stressed beyond reason
You all raised us, wether your an older sibling, parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, friend
Yet, you call us lazy as if we are to blame
You gave us the distractions of technology, you encouraged us
And now we are reprimanded and handed all these expectations we can not reach
Our phones diostarct us, but you are the ones who designed the phones we use
Your the ones who created addicting apps you know would harm us
You created the e- cigarettes that you tell us not to use
You all use your ur phones like us, guilty of the scrolling
But we are lazy?
Our fashion trends come from your decades
We dress how u dressed, except modernly
And we are the ones who cant wear them?
You created the messy political system that we have to navigated through
You created the misinformation we receive
Guns were revolutionized by your generations
And now every day we live in fear that they’ll be used against us
We live in fear due to your ignorance
Your actions and selfishness primarily led to the spread of the virus
That has taken our young lives away
That has taken our family members away
That has taken our gradations, proms, friends away
That has forced us to sit in front of a screen every day, away from human interaction
None of you understand what we are going through
None of you have felt the same as we have at this very moment
And yet you deny our feelings, because we are lazy or inexperienced or too young
We seem foolish to you, but we are already affecting culture far more than you did
We understand culture, politics, and facts better than you
Because you gave us modern technology, and it has made us smarter
You are the ones who deny the mental health crisis that is occurring
You are the ones who dismiss us as if we have no say in our own lives
You are the reason our mental health and social skills are so poor
You are the reason our earth warming and polluted!
You created the world we live in, and soon you wont have to live in it, but we will
You are the one to blame for this!
But you refuse to help us?
