“She is not there to feed your ego” would be a better way to phrase that line as in its current state it reads awkwardly. I like the line about a kick in the pants. The poem as a whole is a somewhat subtle evocation of the idea that endurance and faith are important when writing or wanting to write. You clearly know how to establish a basic rhythm and structure.
