Image for the poem Freed

You donít even know that you saved me
From my own self
I never once knew
That my freedom
Was in the hands of someone else

You caught me at a great time
Because I felt myself slipping
I was on the edge of my own demise
Right before I lost my gripping
You caught me

Right before I jumped
Into the world of the unliving
Though I was alive
I felt dead inside
No feeling of life
Within me

You freed me from my mentality
Of being a slave
You broke those chains
You took me out of the darkest shadows
Of my own dreadful cave
I didnít know that I needed saving
Until I had one foot in my grave..

God knew I needed you
I have him to thank
Iíve been drowned by my own sorrows
If you hadnít pulled me out I would have sank

I was already so deep in...
I never thought Iíd come out
But you freed me from my
Insecurities and self doubt

Yes you freed me
You freed me and Iíll never go back
As long as you are in my life
I know just that....

I am freed.
