Image for the poem the child

the child

I'm off kilter
feeling the sin of the my damnation
egos speak then leave me to pay the price alone

I hurt, inside I shiver
I know which voice is mine...sometimes
funny things is I'm satisfied to let her talk
sitting in the shadows listening to her

I don't mind the solitude
I'm weary of this place
to her, this is an exciting brand new adventure

she is my spirit child
I bore her in pain
my ego cracked then splintered
and out of nowhere she appeared

I sit in silence
the child vows to go down with me
I'm no longer alone
