A cup of coffee does not save
A dull pain pierces the walls
The heart has no more strength
And you do not believe in change,
having turned on apathy for the whole
And a cup of coffee does not save,
Now you do not feel the heat
Nothing in the world cares
I am drunk by you to the bottom
So enjoy for a minute!
Be proud of what you did to me!
I see the world of bright colors dimly,
Forgetting about happiness and peace ...
Breaking down the walls of my barriers,
You thought to settle in them,
And you asked, Are you welcome here?
Oh yes! Of course, I forgot ...
The heart has no more strength
And you do not believe in change,
having turned on apathy for the whole
And a cup of coffee does not save,
Now you do not feel the heat
Nothing in the world cares
I am drunk by you to the bottom
So enjoy for a minute!
Be proud of what you did to me!
I see the world of bright colors dimly,
Forgetting about happiness and peace ...
Breaking down the walls of my barriers,
You thought to settle in them,
And you asked, Are you welcome here?
Oh yes! Of course, I forgot ...

Hahaha, we read this once before deciding to comment on it. We drink coffee on occasions if it's cold enough, we usually drink an assortment of teas. But within the first two lines a thing started playing out in our mind. We ask ourself of our relationship with our coffee, when we choose to drink it. Could this coffee time be our time together to work though issues regardless of the issue. The issue could be unpaid bills or a relationship currently on the rails. This is our time with our friend coffee to work things out and maybe come up with a solution. Even without a solution this was our faith, our belief, our religion that even cold coffee held an answer. There was that calming affect that said everything is going to be alright. But then our mind flips as always and it ask our heart, "what if he adds cream and sugar to the coffee?" Our mind wants our heart to assure it that this isn't abuse, the the answer is still at the bottom of this cup. That things will work out one way or the other for both of us

I do love your deep and contemplative comment. I am a bit of coffee addict in the morning but I drink tea too, have not been doing much cold coffee though. :p But I also love coffee time especially on the weekends when I can write, or try to get some reading time in here, and it is a great time work through issues like you said. I often do get answers in coffee time; I almost never add cream, and never sugar. ;) Things do work themselves in one way or another. I hope the coffee metaphor worked in relation to it's place in the overall write. Thank you so much for taking the time to give me your thoughts. As always I really appreciate you reading, your support, and great feedback I_IS_ME. ☕🏛️🖤🌒

You’re writing inspires me to work harder on mine. So much going on here, one can only wonder about the author and her world to be able convey darkness and beauty in a collective after party.

Wow, that is such an incredible compliment Poetspeak; you blew me away with that one. I love that, being an inspiration... xo There is quite a bit buried in this short write so I am glad you can see between the lines. Ah the author, she's just crazy so darkness is beautiful to her and the after party is in the peaceful aisles of the graveyard. :p But she gives you pieces of the puzzle. ☕🏛️🖤🌒

But the coffee would at least be a sobering drink. It is a terrible thing to ask if one is welcome, lol. It is not a question but rather, an answer.

Ah yes, sobering. Indeed, if you have to ask... lol It was more of rhetorical question with the last line being the answer in relation to the narrative... Thank you so much for the comment Billy, I hope you liked it. :) ☕🏛️🖤🌒

Dear K,
I’m not sure where I’m headed with this but- part of me thinks it’s the coffee speaking throughout the poem. Flip then to the notion of ritual and using that cup of coffee or tea to help organize thoughts by routine, slow those thoughts to a less maddening speed. Knowing the beverage itself can’t possibly solve an issue but there to hold and sip while scenarios work themselves out. There is a certain love holding onto that cup and saucer while drinking its warm liquid. Like an internal hug when you really need one. End musings. I really enjoyed where this went for me. Your bolded focus words and italicized words depicting another voice were a great add. Magnificent
Thoughtful piece.

Headed into the unknown, I like it. :) No doubt coffee was speaking throughout in one way or another. :p Coffee is that love that fills you up and gives you the ability to plow forward no matter what. ☕ I am terrible at slowing my thoughts but at least it helps me at work to multi-task. Then so often my thoughts torments me elsewhere. Love the internal hug analogy, perfect! 🤗 I am so happy you enjoyed and mused this one over, and you are so kind to mention my impatient formatting. Thank you so much for that final awesome compliment as well. Feedback like yours makes it's worthwhile to keep sharing and change my mind when I think about stopping. ☕🏛️🖤🌒

Re. A cup of coffee does not save
KX this dark imaginative write using coffee metaphors needs to Percolate in my simple mind a bit to appreciate the depths of your talent.
I absolutely love sipping on your thought-provoking freshly brewed poetry.
I interpret this deliciously dark write as coffee being a safe haven,
where the day begins in the comfort of soothing warmth, in the confines of metaphoric walls.
Walls fortified by coffee so we can carry on with our day.
We can get consumed by our most challenging days, leaving us vulnerable to the GRIND of daily life.
But if you think about it there is no greater symbol for new beginnings than coffee.
The start of a new day begins with limitless possibilities over that first cup of coffee.
A simple, ''Let's go for coffee'' makes for a perfect initiation to a possible new romance.
It is a mask of confidence because of our daily necessity to drink coffee, taking a wrecking ball to those metaphoric walls.
Coffee can get away with almost anything.
What in the hell kind of dark spell did you Brew up, causing me to spill my Beans of insanity with all this crazy talk coming from me, hahaha???
Well anyway, one thing is for certain, I do love my coffee and your incredible poetry Permeating through my mind????? LOL

You always crack me up, Feet. Your comments always get a laugh and a smile. Percolate, oh yes... you have to let them percolate and brew (maybe itches brew but still...) I love sipping on your comments but really I take them to the bottom so quickly that I quickly need a refill. Very perceptive in regards to coffee being a safe haven. Your metaphors are the most skillful, and damn that grind... it definitely leaves us vulnerable but in changing form to a liquid it allows us to flow around obstacles. It's impossible to keep up with your metaphoric genius. I should stop trying, but I won't stop damnit. Coffee and alcohol, lol - one or the other gives the mask of confidence. lol Like I said witches brew and black magic too because the insanity and crazy talk is what I need; so I know I am not alone in the asylum of my mind. Shaking my head and laughing... ☕🏛️🖤🌒

Dear Kristina, this is a beautifully written, melancholy piece. This passage touched me most, "I am drunk by you to the bottom." There are people in our lives that can consume our souls so completely and leave us empty. My life experience informs me that we will always be filled again if we allow. I really pondered this one BD, thank you 🙏🐻💋🐻💋🐻

Oh yes! you definitely get it GW as usual; there are definitely people that will take and take until you cannot breathe, you have no more to give them. But somehow we always manage to be filled again. To search for that one who makes us whole. Life really is a struggle and having someone who also fills you, completes you, is such a beautiful thing to strive for. Thanks for the wonderful comment and pondering... ☕🏛️🖤🌒

Those opening lines
"A dull pain pierces the walls
The heart has no more strength" really set the mood for the rest of the piece. I love that you described how the bright colors just seem dim.
It's always difficult to be in a situation like this and trying to decide which path to go.
Well done Kristina.

You cannot say I don't give you variety Wally. :p I am really glad you found the opening set the mood properly. In such a situation for me the bright colors do just seem dim so I am happy you connected with that. It is really is difficult... I hope the ending was understandable as well.
