Icy tendrils
Paint a lacy snowflake pattern
On the window
Snowy gray beyond
Sucks the warmth from memories
Of recent summer
The walls themselves
Seem to bleed winter cold,
Chilling the air within
Sunny blue skies
Are vacationing in some tropical paradise
On an unapproved hiatus
Nothing stirs
On this February morn, man or beast
Life - time itself - in frozen hibernation.

I thoroughly enjoyed your descriptiveness. I am a sucker for the cold and winter like hibernation, you eloquently wrote of here. I suppose that's my own dark nature and the fact I experience the opposite (I'm in the so-called typical paradise - where the grass isn't always greener here.. lol!)

I work with a guy who claims to love the snow and cold. Keep telling him to move to Alaska and take winter with him.
Guess we need a change of seasons, though, to appreciate the nice times. I spent a couple of years in Florida (Air Farce) and strangely kind of missed real winters.

Yeah, it's the monotonous nature of having the weather never really giving you a reprieve for 8 months on end... I'm sure anyone freezing their buns off right now, reading this, thinks that I'm probably nuts!! Haha... I agree with you, especially the winter ( and those beautiful days of fall that that we don't EVER get here) I miss the cold and just the transitioning of Seasons all together...
