SWEET RELEASE IN FREEING FORM  (1-17-2010, 9:00pm, Palm Springs, California)

 
in expressing myself
through feelings
born into
written thoughts
given form
through words
congealed
into
manifested expression
as potential
new poems
i wonder
aloud
to myself
at times
if its perhaps
an early
symptomatic
warning sign
of aphasia
coming on
for i struggle
and feel challenged
sometimes
when the focus
or flow state
of my
inner muse
gets suddenly interrupted
unexpectedly
distracted
or temporarily derailed
to get my
focus
back on track
or to find
the right words
which sufficiently capture
best express
or preferably
most precisely convey
whatever
it may be
im feeling
sensing or seeing
which i
reach out
through and from
or only
some other phase
unknown
by me
for now
some loose
irreverent expansion
of habitual
imaginative convenience
as a way
to avoid
or veer away
from using
too many
lazy
or otherwise
more anemic words
discontent
to keep
in line with
abiding by
or upholding
any stagnant
soulless
status quos
for just as
it is known
that
in making
an omelet
one must break
a few eggs
so too
in freeing form
one must
be willing
to break
a few old
archaic rules
at least enough
to open up
and free
any overly stiff
tense
uptight
or otherwise terse
newly rising
horizon line
being born
coming into
view
releasing it
and freeing
it from
any potential limitations
or fears
of getting stuck
behind
the same old
stagnant
culturally established
long predefined
and accepted
drought stricken
boundary lines
too long  
culturally afraid
to ever dare
question
much less ever
even  
dare to risk
or seek
to explore
or move beyond
all those
prescribed
too long
dried up
suffocating
preexisting
man made rules
of grammatical guidelines
acceptable
though rigidly stuck
dead end
old paradigms
uncertain
new becomings
unseen
unknown
much broader
more unlimited
potentials
stepped into
more bravely
without fear
at all
if for
nothing else
than to take
a chance
on finding out
for oneself
what consequences
or unknown
new rewards
might
or might not
possibly
surprisingly come
from simply
breaking form
and discovering
for oneself
just as naturally
and easily
as taking in
inhaling
and exhaling
each and every
subsequent
new breath
from now on
in hopes  
that its  
in and out
naturally inspiring
sweet
life giving
recyclic release
may uplift
inspire
and return you
increasingly  
back home
more freely
to more
boundlessly flowing
creatively open
blue skies
again
